It may not be the RB move everyone was expecting, but the Patriots backfield just got a little more crowded.
New England is bringing back RB and core special teamer Brandon Bolden, according to Doug Kyed:
The Patriots re-signed RB Brandon Bolden.

Bolden saw extended time in the Patriots backfield during those injury-riddled seasons where pretty much everyone was hurt, but the reality is that he has very limited value as a running back; the Patriots are still very likely to bring in another runner before the season kicks off. However, Bolden has for sure been a crucial member of the special teams unit for some time now, and the Patriots clearly saw enough in his value there to bring him back. Length and terms of the contract are unknown at the moment, so we'll be updating this article as more details are released.
