I have a couple questions for the audience, so feel free to give your thoughts in the comments.
- How many Patriots will make the Top 100?
- Which two players will be ranked 91-100?
I’ll start with the first question. I think the following players will make the list:
QB Tom Brady, TE Rob Gronkowski, WR Julian Edelman, WR Brandin Cooks, OT Marcus Cannon, LB Dont’a Hightower, CB Malcolm Butler, and FS Devin McCourty. I don’t think any players on the New England defensive line or offensive backfield will be represented.
Eight players is a lot, though, and would set the record for most players on the NFL Top 100 rankings for a reigning Super Bowl champion.
As for which players I think should come in from 91-100, that’s a tough question. I think Cannon will be one of the players, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Edelman, Cooks, or Hightower would be the other because I think they’re underappreciated around the league. If I had to guess, I would say that Cannon and Cooks come in from 91-100.
What are your thoughts?
