According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the Patriots and wide receiver Julian Edelman are close to an extension.

The thirty-one-year-old Edelman, who has spent his entire eight-year career in Foxborough, is in the final year of a four-year $17 million deal he signed in March of 2014.
Edelman has earned $14,374,375 since the beginning of the 2013 season. His current 2017 cap figure of $5,750,000 is sixth highest on the team.
The 2009 seventh round pick and former Kent State quarterback has amassed 425 catches 4,540 yards and 24 touchdowns in the regular season en route to becoming Tom Brady’s go-to target.
