Patriots 2017 training camp: A look at this week's schedule and joint practices with the Houston Texans

New England will hold one practice at home before traveling south.

The New England Patriots have had a weekend off after their preseason opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars to regenerate and get back into a rhythm similar to the one the team will have during the regular season. Today, however, the defending world champions return to the practice fields to kick off the fourth week of training camp.

New England will hold four practices this week; three of which will be joint sessions with the Houston Texans. Finally, on Saturday, the two teams will play a preseason contest at Houston's NRG Stadium. Before getting ahead of ourselves, though, let's take a look at this week's detailed schedule as announced by the clubs:

Monday, August 14: Open practice (9:15 a.m. ET), flight to West Virginia

Tuesday, August 15: Open practice (10:00 a.m. ET)

Wednesday, August 16: Open practice (10:30 a.m. ET)

Thursday, August 17: Closed practice (10:30 a.m. ET)

Friday, August 18: Day off, flight to Houston

Saturday, August 19: Week two preseason game (8:00 p.m. ET)

Later today, New England will hold this year's last open training camp practice at Gillette Stadium. Since all other sessions to come will either be closed to the public or take place on the road, today is the final chance to see the defending world champions at home before the preseason season finale against the New York Giants on August 31.

After today's practice, the Patriots will travel to the Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. The Houston Texans hold their 2017 training camp there and New England will join them for three practices; the first two of which will be open to the public before a closed session – likely a walkthrough – takes place on Thursday.
