The New England Patriots needed second-year QB Jacoby Brissett to lead a fourth quarter comeback for the second straight week and, for the second straight week, Brissett came up short. His touch wasn’t great and neither was his awareness; he hasn’t looked like a future NFL starting quarterback.

With the Detroit Lions up next on the schedule, we might not see Brissett until the fourth preseason game, where he might play all four quarters. He needs to show marked improvement, or else the Patriots might enter the 2018 offseason looking for an upgrade.

We also look at which Patriots have gained the most over the first two weeks of the preseason and which players have the most to gain against the Lions.
