The New England Patriots have just beaten the New Orleans Saints 36-20 to improve to 1-1. With that in mind, watching today's late afternoon games feels better than watching last weekend's contests.
Use this thread to comment on the late games. They are as follows:
Miami Dolphins at Los Angeles Chargers: The Patriots will play both teams this year. With the Dolphins being a division rival, though, and the Chargers projected to be the underdog against New England, the rooting interest appears to be clear: Go Chargers!
New York Jets at Oakland Raiders: The Raiders are projected to be in the race for the AFC's number one seed. The Jets are projected to be in the race for the number one overall draft pick. As much as it may hurt New England fans: Go Jets!
San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks: The game has virtually no impact on the Patriots. However, with the 49ers a candidate to fight the Jets for the number one overall draft pick, a Seahawks victory therefore appears to be favorable for New England: Go Seahawks!
Dallas Cowboys at Denver Broncos: The Broncos have looked solid so far this season and might be in contention for at least a playoff spot. Naturally, this would lead to a “Go Cowboys!”. Then again, if you are not a believer of Trevor Simian as Denver's quarterback, you could root for the Broncos just to improve the Patriots' strength of schedule.
Washington Redskins at Los Angeles Rams: While the game has no implications on the Patriots, it does impact one of the team's division rivals, the Buffalo Bills: Buffalo holds the Rams' second round draft pick next year as a result of the Sammy Watkins trade. The more wins Los Angeles has, the worse the pick: Go Rams!
