Later today, 4:00 p.m. ET, all NFL teams have to be under the 53-player regular season roster limit. Consequently, there will be plenty of movement today. And while the majority of moves will be releases, the occasional trade will happen as well. The New England Patriots made one yesterday and had another one today.
According to the Ringer's Michael Lombardi, the Patriots have acquired Detroit Lions cornerback and special teamer Johnson Bademosi:

ESPN's Adam Schefter offered the details a little later:

Bademosi, who originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Cleveland Browns in 2012, will be on the Patriots' upcoming roster as a backup cornerback and gunner on special teams. In that capacity, the 27-year old played 283 snaps on defense in 2016 and 249 on special teams.
Adding the Stanford product gives the Patriots a virtual replacement for Justin Coleman, who was traded to the Seattle Seahawks yesterday. Simultaneously, this move appears to hurt the chances of rookie cornerbacks Kenny Moore II, D.J. Killings and Will Likely. It also moves the Patriots' roster up to 82 players.
