The (1-1) New England Patriots host the (1-1) Houston Texans.
The Patriots look to have another strong outing after their sound victory over the New Orleans Saints and they’ll get a good chance to shine against the Houston Texans. The Patriots have historically dominated the Texans, holding an 8-1 record with the lone loss coming in the 2009 regular season finale where the Patriots rested a lot of their starters, but still lost Wes Welker to a torn ACL.
The two teams last played in the divisional round of the 2016-17 playoffs where the Patriots won 35-16 en route to winning Super Bowl LI. The two sides also faced off in week 3 of the 2016 regular season where then-rookie QB Jacoby Brissett led the Patriots to a decisive 27-0 victory.
Houston is known for their strong defense, but their offense is in serious trouble. Nearly half of their passing targets have gone to WR DeAndre Hopkins, which really simplifies the job of the New England secondary. All of the Texans tight ends are dealing with various injuries, too.
