Patriots-Texans: Rex Burkhead OUT, 11 questionable for Sunday

The Patriots have a long list of injuries.

The New England Patriots released their final injury report for the week in preparation to face the Texans and it’s much longer than the Houston side of the ledger.

Patriots: RB Rex Burkhead (ribs)

Texans: OG Jeff Allen (ankle), CB Kevin Johnson (knee), WR Will Fuller (shoulder)

Burkhead is third on the Patriots depth chart behind James White and Mike Gillislee, so it will be Dion Lewis that benefits the most from an increase in opportunities. There shouldn’t be a big change on the Patriots side.

Allen is one of the Texans starting guards and he was injured in week 1. Johnson is one of the Texans starting cornerbacks and Fuller is one of their starting receivers.

Patriots: OT Marcus Cannon (ankle/concussion), TE Rob Gronkowski (groin), WR Danny Amendola (concussion/knee), WR Phillip Dorsett (knee), CB Stephon Gilmore (groin), LB Dont’a Hightower (knee), WR Chris Hogan (knee), LB Elandon Roberts (thumb), CB Eric Rowe (groin), ST Matthew Slater (hamstring), ST Nate Ebner (shoulder)

Texans: RB Alfred Blue (ankle), DT Brandon Dunn (knee)

Ebner was added back to the injury report after not being listed on Wednesday or Thursday. Marcus Cannon returned to practice in a limited capacity, a good sign for his availability on Sunday. Gronkowski was limited, too, but should be able to play.

All other players should be able to face the Texans if needed and were limited at practice all week..
