In not even 30 minutes, the New England Patriots will host the Houston Texans for both teams' third game of the 2017 regular season. New England tries to improve its record to 2-1 but will have to do so without some of its key contributors in all three phases of the game.

A look at today's inactives shows just that:

RB Rex Burkhead

OT Marcus Cannon

OT Cole Croston

LB Dont'a Hightower

LB Harvey Langi

CB Eric Rowe

WR Matthew Slater

While Burkhead has already been declared out on Friday, the remaining players on the inactives list have been listed as questionable during the final injury report – and some of them are core players: Dont'a Hightower, who misses his second straight game, Marcus Cannon, Matthew Slater and Eric Rowe are all four either starters or top backup players.

On the other side, however, the Patriots will see some equally important players active – among them previously banged-up offensive skill position players Rob Gronkowski and Danny Amendola. Special teams ace Nate Ebner also returns after missing New England's first two games of the year.
