The Houston Texans came close to beating the New England Patriots – but close is not enough when you have to go against Tom Brady. New England's quarterback led the team on an eight-play, 75-yard drive to take a 36-66 lead with not even 30 seconds left in the game. The Patriots ultimately held on, which is why we are giving out game balls now.

The question is, who gets it?

Candidate: QB Tom Brady

Brady earned the Pats Pulpit game ball last week and he delivered another great performance today. Despite being under considerable pressure all game long, the 40-year old completed 25 of 35 pass attempts for 378 yards and five touchdowns – the last of which capping the above-mentioned last-minute scoring drive. As flawless as the statistics look, not all was perfect: Brady also had three fumbles, losing one.

Candidate: WR Brandin Cooks

After two relatively quiet weeks to start the season, Brandin Cooks has had his best game since joining the Patriots. The soon-to-be 24-year old caught five passes for 131 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Cooks also added a two-point conversion after the ultimately game-winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter. In short: He was spectacular.

Candidate: TE Rob Gronkowski

Rob Gronkowski did not make the highlight-reels plays other skill position players made. However, the NFL's best tight end played a really good game as both a blocker and a pass catcher. In the latter category, Gronkowski registered a team-high eight catches for 89 yards and a touchdown. Furthermore, his third down conversion on the game-winning scoring drive was a key play in the game.

With all that in mind, who is your choice for this week's game ball?
