New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady set the NFL record for most conference player of the week awards for his week 2 performance against the New Orleans Saints. He’s extended his record with a second-straight AFC Offensive Player of the Week award for his stellar game against the Houston Texans.

This is Brady’s 29th career player of the week award and it’s hard to argue with the honor. Brady completed 25 of 35 pass attempts for 378 yards and 5 touchdowns, including a last minute game winning score to wide receiver Brandin Cooks. Brady was the first player to throw for 300 or more yards against the Texans defense since early 2015, which made his feat even more impressive.
Brady won back-to-back player of the week awards for the fourth time in his career, joining weeks 6-7 in 2007, weeks 12-13 in 2010, and weeks 1-2 in 2011.
Congratulations to Brady and here’s to a dozen more of these awards this season.
