While the NFL playoffs are currently in full swing, the league took a look ahead today. Earlier on Thursday, the slate of games to be played in London during the 2018 regular season has been announced – and the New England Patriots are not a part of the spectacle for the sixth straight year as a look at the schedule shows:
Seattle Seahawks at Oakland Raiders: Week 6 (October 14)
Philadelphia Eagles at Jacksonville Jaguars: Week 7 or Week 8 (October 21 or October 28)
Tennessee Titans at Los Angeles Chargers: Week 7 or Week 8 (October 21 or October 28)
New England played two games in London before: In 2009, the team defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a final score of 35-7, three years later the Patriots blew out the then-St. Louis Rams 45-7. This season, the team played a third international game albeit in Mexico City. While the country changed, the success did not: New England defeated the Oakland Raiders 33-8.
With a game in Mexico already having taken place during the 2017 season, it seems highly unlikely that any of the Patriots' 2018 regular season games will be played outside of the United States.
