The New England Patriots held their second practice session of the week today. As opposed to yesterday’s session, today’s did not take place inside Gillette Stadium but on the practice fields outside of it. Furthermore, the team did not have perfect attendance as two players were absent as today’s practice report shows:
Did not participate
Patriots: QB Tom Brady (right hand), OT LaAdrian Waddle (knee)
Jaguars: FS Tashaun Gipson (foot)
After being limited yesterday, both Tom Brady and LaAdrian Waddle were absent for today’s practice, at least officially. Both players were spotted during the early portions of the session but apparently did not partake in the team work. Still, seeing them present should be seen as a good sign for their availability for Sunday’s game - especially in Brady’s case: The NFL’s best quarterback will not miss the AFC title game because of a hand injury.
Limited participation
Patriots: DT Alan Branch (knee), RB ReX Burkhead (knee), RB Mike Gillislee
Jaguars: SS Barry Church (shoulder), RB Leonard Fournette (ankle), DT Malik Jackson (ankle)
Besides Brady and Waddle being downgraded to non-participants today, neither the Patriots’ nor the Jaguars’ list of limited players saw any changes compared to yesterday. All six players appear to be on their way to at worst be game-time decisions on Sunday.
Full particiation
Jaguars: QB Blake Bortles (right wrist), OG Patrick Omahmeh (illness), LB Paul Posluszny (abdomen)
After being absent on Wednesday, starting left guard Patrick Omameh was back at practice for the Jaguars today. He was a full participant and, like Blake Bortles and Paul Posluszny, should be ready to go on Sunday.
