The New England Patriots lost the coin toss before the AFC Championship Game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The visiting Jaguars opted to kick off and the conference's number one team received the opening kickoff. New England moved the football well early on against one of the NFL's best defenses but saw the drive stall once it reached Jacksonville territory.
Instead of going for a 48-yard field goal on 4th and 2, however, the team opted to go for a new set of downs and the result was a conversion from Tom Brady to Danny Amendola:

The completion helped the Patriots reach goal to go but three negative plays in a row prevented a touchdown from happening. Kicker Stephen Gostkowski put the team up 3-0.
