The New England Patriots are playing a sloppy AFC title game against the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars and as a result found themselves down 14-3 late in the second quarter. The team ultimately delivered its best drive of the day to cut the deficit to four points but along the way lost its best offensive skill position player.

After a helmet-to-helmet collision with Jaguars safety Barry Church, tight end Rob Gronkowski exited the game. The NFL's best tight end appeared woozy getting up from the ground and walked to the blue medical tent under his own power. He later marched into the locker room.

An announcement on his status should come soon but don't be surprised if Gronkowski is placed in the concussion protocol and will be out for the rest of the game.

UPDATE: The Patriots announced that Gronkowski is officially questionable to return with a head injury.

UPDATE 2: Gronkowski is officially out of the game.
