The New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles posted their final injury reports of the bye week and had to offer their best estimates on the availability of certain players on the report.
If the Super Bowl were to take place on Sunday, Patriots All Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski would not be able to play. Fortunately, we’re more than a week away from the actual game and there’s plenty of time for these players to return to the practice field.
“OUT”
Patriots: TE Rob Gronkowski (concussion), DL Deatrich Wise Jr. (concussion)
Eagles: N/A
Neither Gronkowski, nor Wise practiced on Friday as they were held out all week. Hopefully they will be able to return to practice next week.
“QUESTIONABLE”
Patriots: DL Malcom Brown (foot), RB Mike Gillislee (knee), OT LaAdrian Waddle (knee)
Eagles: N/A
Brown did not practice on Friday, missing his second-straight day of practice, and hopefully will be able to return next week. Gillislee and Waddle were limited all week.
“No Status”
Patriots: QB Tom Brady (right hand), S Devin McCourty (shoulder)
Eagles: DT Timmy Jernigan (illness), RB Jay Ajayi (ankle), RB Kenyon Barner (illness), LB Dannell Ellerbe (hamstring)
Both Brady and McCourty were elevated to full participants on Friday after being limited on Thursday.
Jernigan was a new addition for the Eagles as he did not participate at practice. Ajayi remained limited, but Philadelphia does not expect that to affect his availability. Barner returned to practice and Ellerbe was a full participant for the second-straight day.
