Bill Belichick says he “absolutely” plans on returning to coach the Patriots in 2018

That ends that.

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick addressed the media on Monday and was questioned about ESPN’s article about potential conflict in New England between the coach and quarterback Tom Brady.

The article centers on Belichick drawing the line for Brady’s personal trainer Alex Guerrero, to Brady’s displeasure, and to Belichick being “mandated” by team owner Robert Kraft to trade quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, to Belichick’s displeasure.

Belichick deflected early questions about the article by calling it “baseless”, and then complimented the work ethic of Brady and deferred from answering if he were interested in the New York Giants head coaching job.

When asked if he planned to coach the Patriots in 2018, Belichick said, “Absolutely.”

So there’s that. The owner wants Belichick back in 2018. Belichick says he’ll be back in 2018. Tom Brady is under contract for 2018. The band is going to stick together for at least one more year.

The end. Please.
