In not even 90 minutes, the New England Patriots’ highly anticipated prime time game against the Kansas City Chiefs will be kicked off – and we now know which players will not participate in the contest.
Patriots inactives
CB J.C. Jackson
DE Keionta Davis
DT Malcom Brown
DE Geneo Grissom
OL Cole Croston
OL Ted Karras
DE John Simon
The biggest name on the Patriots’ list of inactive players is Malcom Brown. The starter has suffered a knee injury during New England’s win against the Indianapolis Colts last Thursday and was limited all week in practice. With him out, the rotation at the defensive tackle position will consist of Lawrence Guy, Danny Shelton and Adam Butler, with Trey Flowers likely moving inside on obvious passing downs.
Some big names are not listed among the inactives: wide receiver Chris Hogan and running back Sony Michel are both active after being listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report. The same goes for tight end Rob Gronkowski and wide receiver Josh Gordon, although the two were expected to be active anyway. Furthermore, cornerback Eric Rowe returns to the lineup for the first time since week two.
Also returning is defensive edge Derek Rivers, who fills the void created by the injury related absences of John Simon and Geneo Grissom.
