The New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs are playing a close prime time contest early in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately for the Patriots’ offense, it will likely have to survive the rest of the game without one of its starting offensive linemen: right tackle Marcus Cannon left the contest late in the third quarter and went to the locker room for what has since been announced as a head injury.
The veteran, who missed one game earlier this season due to an ankle injury, is questionable to return. Considering the nature of his injury, it would not be a surprise to see him have to sit out the remainder of the contest and be placed in the concussion protocol. Cannon hurt his head in a collision late in the third period and has since been replaced by veteran backup LaAdrian Waddle.
While Waddle is a solid backup, he will have his hands full going agains the Chiefs’ top passer rusher, Dee Ford.
