After quickly going up 7-0 on the game’s first drive, the New England Patriots’ fortunes quickly turned against the Chicago Bears. The play to start a spiral of negativity for the team was a lost fumble by kickoff returner Cordarrelle Patterson. New England held on to its returnman, however, and it paid off big time in the second quarter:
So. Much. SPEED.@ceeflashpee84 goes 95 yards to the HOUSE!

Patterson, who was voted to the Pro Bowl twice for his return skills, shows why he is still one of the most electrifying kickoff returners in all of football: he fields the Bears’ short kickoff, quickly builds up speed and makes a terrific cut to get into the open field and to the end zone for what is his sixth career return touchdown.
The touchdown cut into the Bears’ 10-point lead and New England is now down only 17-14 with 10 minutes left in the first half.
