The New England Patriots and the Chicago Bears are in the middle of a high-scoring contest – one that saw two touchdowns from the Patriots’ special teams units. After Cordarrelle Patterson returned a kickoff to the end zone in the second quarter, New England’s punt coverage unit delivered another score midway through the third period:
Blocked punt.

After New England’s defense forced a punt after its game-tying field goal drive, linebacker Dont’a Hightower burst through the line of scrimmage to get to Bears punter Pat O’Donnell. The rusher was able to block O’Donnell’s kicking attempt and the Patriots were in perfect position to scoop up the loose football – which Kyle Van Noy did. And not just that, the linebacker ran back the fumble 29 yards for a touchdown to give his team a 31-24 lead.
