The New England Patriots are rolling against the visiting Indianapolis Colts. After ex-Patriot Adam Vinatieri missed a field goal attempt on the Colts’ second possession, New England took advantage and marched down the field yet again: it took the home team eight plays to cover 72 yards and score its second touchdown of the day.
Before Tom Brady found the end zone from one yard out, though, New England’s running backs made some big plays: James White had an 18-yard catch and run; Sony Michel took a pass for 12 yards before a powerful 15-yard run to set up goal-to-go:
The Patriots failed to find the end zone on the first two plays after reaching the 1-yard line – both runs by Michel were stopped short – but on third down, Brady snuck in:
Brady’s 18th career rushing touchdown put the Patriots up 14-0.
