Week 9 Thursday Night Football Raiders vs 49ers: Patriots rooting guide and open thread

The (1-6) Oakland Raiders are on the road against the (1-7) San Francisco 49ers for Thursday Night Football in what could have been a super exciting Battle for the Bay, except injuries, trades, and general abandonment of the 2018 NFL Season by these two teams changes the complexion.

The winner of this game actually loses because it’s become a Battle for the First Overall Pick. The New England Patriots don’t really care which team wins, but it would be nice for Jimmy Garoppolo (when he returns) and the 49ers to get the top pick because it’s easy to root for the former Patriots quarterback. So, go 49ers!
