The New England Patriots’ loss against the Tennessee Titans did not just see the team outplayed in all three phases, but also lose some important pieces to injury: starting left tackle Trent Brown left the game because of a back issue, tight end Dwayne Allen hurt his knee, and Julian Edelman exited due to of an ankle injury suffered on an unsuccessful fourth down attempt in the fourth quarter.
While there are no news on Allen just yet, Edelman’s injury is reportedly not considered to be a serious one. Now, there are also good news coming out regarding Brown (via NFL Network’s Mike Giardi):
Left tackle Trent Brown is just fine according to a source. He left yesterdays’s game twice- illness and later back #Patriots
As Giardi notes, Brown was dealing with multiple issues on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans: he left the game in the second quarter because of illness-related issues, and again in the third because of a back injury. He did not return after his second exit. The first-year Patriot, who is in the middle of an outstanding season as Tom Brady’s blindside protector, was therefore limited to just over half of the offensive snaps on the day.
Brown being fine is good news for both the Patriots and himself. With the bye week coming up, New England’s starter at left tackle now gets some added rest to get fully healthy again after he missed two practices last week because of an illness. Because of that Brown can further position himself as a hot commodity with unrestricted free agency on the horizon
