New England Patriots fans’ confidence in the team dropped after a last-second loss to the Miami Dolphins, reaching its third-lowest point of the season. Just 58% of fans are confident in the direction of the team, barely edging out the 51% after the week 10 loss to the Tennessee Titans and the 31% after losing to the Detroit Lions in week 3.
But never fear, fans of the Patriots’ upcoming opponent are in a worse spot. Just 12% of Pittsburgh Steelers fans are confident in the direction of their team, tied for 8th-worst in the league. The Steelers are riding a three-game losing streak, including one to the hapless Oakland Raiders.
To make it even more laughable, Steelers fans are more confident that they’ll lose to the Patriots than New England fans are in victory. While Patriots fans project an average victory of 4 points for New England, Steelers fans project a 7-point Patriots win. I don’t think we’ve ever seen a fanbase out-project their opponent.
The average of the two projections would be a 5.5-point road victory for the Patriots. Do you think New England can cover that spread?
How will the Patriots fare in Pittsburgh?
