In the latest episode of the Pats Blitz Podcast, Chris and Steven are joined by William Bendetson, who covers the New England Patriots for Patriots Maven. The trio goes into detail on what went right, and what went wrong against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday and try to find answers to questions such as the following
Why did the Patriots offense commit so many self-inflicted penalties? William says that some of the credit needs to be given to the Steelers defense. They are very good at rushing the passer, and make life challenging for the offensive line.
Can the run defense be fixed in time for the playoffs? The Maven believes it will be tough for them to fix the issue in time for the playoffs.
One of the bright spots the three also talk about is the play of the Patriots secondary. They were able to limit Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster to under a combined 100 receiving yards for the entire game. So if the defense can fix their run defense issues, they will be in good shape for the playoffs.
