Patriots rooting guide
Bills at Dolphins: This is a tricky one. The Patriots want the Bills to lose so the Patriots can clinch the AFC East in week 14, but they also shouldn’t really be too concerned about winning the division. It might be better for the Bills to win to sabotage their draft pick.
Browns at Texans: The Patriots want the Browns to win to create some breathing room in the race atop the AFC.
Colts at Jaguars: The Patriots want the Colts to win for the sake of strength of victory.
Broncos at Bengals: The Broncos are the scarier team, so I’d root for the Bengals to win and keep pace in the playoff race.
Ravens at Falcons: The Patriots should want the Falcons to win to affect the Ravens postseason hopes.
Rams at Lions: The Patriots should want the Rams to win because New England owns the Lions’ 3rd round pick in the draft.
Bears at Giants: The Patriots should want the Giants to win because New England owns the Bears’ 2nd round pick in the draft.
Cardinals at Packers: The Patriots should want the Packers to win for the sake of strength of victory.
Panthers at Buccaneers: This game doesn’t matter to the Patriots.
