The New England Patriots had a busy day today, in light of the news that starting wide receiver Josh Gordon would leave the team and indefinitely be placed on the NFL’s suspension list. However, the team itself has to look forward and to its upcoming game against the Buffalo Bills. Today, the Patriots held their second practice preparing for the upcoming opponent. And as a look at the injury report shows, attendance was not perfect:
Did not participate
Patriots: WR Cordarrelle Patterson (illness)
Gordon, who is no longer part of the Patriots’ active roster, was not present at practice and does also not have to be listed. Another of the team’s wide receiver, on the other hand, popped up on today’s practice report: Cordarrelle Patterson missed today’s session due to an illness. With Gordon out, New England can ill afford to lose any more wide receivers so hopefully for the team Patterson is only kept out to play it as safe as possible.
Limited participation
Patriots: TE Rob Gronkowski (ankle/back), LB Brandon King (knee)
Bills: CB Ryan Lewis (concussion), DT Kyle Williams (back)
Patterson is not the only player added to the list today: tight end Rob Gronkowski also makes another appearance on the injury report due to ankle and back issues that have plagued him for most of the year. The veteran was originally removed off the list leading up to the Patriots’ week 14 game against the Miami Dolphins but is now back in limited capacity. With Gordon and Patterson both out — albeit for different reasons — this situation will be kept a close eye on all week.
Special teams ace Brandon King remains a limited participant, meanwhile, as the Bills get two players back who were absent yesterday.
Full participation
FB Patrick DiMarco (ankle), K Stephen Hauschka (right hip), RB Chris Ivory (shoulder), RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring), WR Isaiah McKenzie (ankle), DE Trent Murphy (chest), TE Logan Thomas (hamstring), LB Corey Thompson (ankle), WR Deonte Thompson (achilles)
While Buffalo has a long injury report, most of the men listed are actually full participants and will play on Sunday.
