The 2018 NFL regular season is slowly coming to an end, and one of the signs is this: tonight, the final Monday Night Football game of the year will be played. The two teams to share the honor are the Denver Broncos and the Oakland Raiders, who will both see their respective seasons come to and end after next week.

Denver Broncos (6-8) at Oakland Raiders (3-11)

Time: 8:15 p.m. ET

Location: Oakland Coliseum, Oakland, Calif.

TV: ESPN

Streaming: WatchESPN

Odds: The Broncos opened as 2.5-point favorites for Monday’s game.

SB Nation affiliates: Mile High Report (Broncos) & Silver and Black Pride (Raiders)

Patriots rooting guide

The two teams have an impact on strength of victory and strength of schedule in the AFC’s playoff race as both the Broncos and Raiders share a division with the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers — two teams who are still competing for playoff positioning. That being said, neither team will catch New England in this category so the game appears to have only minimal impact.

But root for a team we must, which is why we go with the Broncos: if Oakland loses this week, a win against the Chiefs next Sunday might not hurt as much when it comes to draft positioning for the team. In all fairness, though, let’s just root for a good game and no injuries on either side.
