The New England Patriots need to beat the New York Jets in order to secure a first-round and they are off to a good start. After moving the football well on their first possession but ultimately being forced to punt, the Patriots defense was able to get off the field in just three plays and move the field position battle in New England’s favor. Starting at their own 41-yard line, the offense took advantage.
The unit went on a nine-play drive that was capped by a 17-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Tom Brady to running back James White:

Early on, New England is moving the football well on the ground and through the air. After two drives, Brady has completed eight of nine pass attempts for 72 yards and the touchdown above. The quarterback is also spreading the football around well, and with Cordarrelle Patterson out with a knee injury is getting all of his available weapons involved: all in all, six players — including tight end Rob Gronkowski — have caught a pass so far.
