The New England Patriots are only a couple of minutes away from having secured a first-round playoff bye and 11-5 record: they are up 38-3 against the New York Jets at the two-minute warning and will lock down the bye. The final points of their blowout victory came with 3:30 left in the game and the starting offense still on the field.

Quarterback Tom Brady, who has played an excellent game and has since been replaced by backup Brian Hoyer, fired a 5-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Julian Edelman:

After two straight inconsistent outings, New England’s passing offense appeared to be back in synch against the Jets: Edelman is one of seven players to catch passes from Brady, while the future Hall of Famer himself completed 24 of his 33 pass attempts on the day for 250 yards as well as four touchdowns — the 29th four-touchdown game of his legendary career.
