After the New England Patriots' Super Bowl loss against the Philadelphia Eagles, tight end Rob Gronkowski was noncommittal on returning to the team next season: “I’m definitely going to look at my future, for sure,” the 28-year old said immediately after the contest was over before adding that he will “sit down the next couple of weeks” to see where exactly he is at at this point in his career.
If Gronkowski decides to hang up the cleats – a move that would still be a surprise despite the comments made three weeks ago –, the NFL and especially the Patriots would lose one of the best players of his era. The 2017 season was another example of that as Gronkowski, coming off a stint on injured reserve, was as dominant as ever in both the running and the passing game.
The latter is the focus of a recent clip posted by the NFL's official Twitter account, one that takes a look at the top ten plays made by the league's best tight end last year:

The video above does not only show how good of a player Gronkowski is and how he is able to take over games with his unique blend of size, strength and speed, it also illustrates what the NFL would miss if he indeed decides to call it quits after eight seasons as a pro. Hopefully, though, this all proves to be just speculation and the potential future Hall of Famer will be with the Patriots for years to come.
