The Dallas Cowboys are expected to part ways with their extremely talented, albeit sometimes troubled, wide receiver, according to Adam Schefter:
Cowboys expected to release WR Dez Bryant today, barring an unexpected last-minute change of heart, per @toddarcher and me. But the plan going into meeting that is now underway was to part ways with Bryant.

Of course, whenever a receiver is cut by another team, the rumors start to swirl. Could he be a good fit for the Patriots? Will he benefit from a change of scenery and the chance to catch passes from Tom Brady? Are the Patriots a perfect landing spot for a player who is known to be a malcontent, whose numbers have been declining, and who is looking to revive his career? Will he take a one year, team friendly prove it deal to show the league that, at 29, he’s still got it?
Dez Bryant hasn’t had a 1,000 yard season since 2014. He drops a fair number of passes, and is something of a diva. Still, he’s a talented guy, no doubt about it, and the Patriots would be a better team with him on the field - assuming he can return to form. This is one of those moves that makes all the sense in the world, and one that I’m sure everyone is already talking about - which means it’s probably not going to happen. Still, the idea of Dez Bryant catching passes from Tommy B right after they netted a first rounder for Cooks has my spidey senses (and a few other senses I probably shouldn’t mention on a family friendly website) tingling.
What’s crazy is that, if Bryant does become a Patriot, he will be the second receiver acquired this season that another team traded up with the Patriots to get.
Let the “Dez Bryant to the Patriots” rumors commence!
EDIT: Dangit, Rich!
