2018 NFL draft: Patriots trade up, select CB Duke Dawson with the 56th overall pick

The New England Patriots have made their third pick of the 2018 NFL draft: With the 56th overall selection, the team selected cornerback Duke Dawson out of Florida.

Analysis: After two trade-downs, New England moves up the board to select a physical slot cornerback out of Florida. Dawson enters a deep cornerback group and will compete against Eric Rowe, Jason McCourty, Jonathan Jones and Cyrus Jones for practice and playing time.
