2018 NFL draft: Patriots trade 43rd pick to the Lions for 51st and 117th pick

New England moves down the board.

Day two of the 2018 NFL draft is underway and the New England Patriots have made their first trade and moved pick number #43 to the Detroit Lions.

Patriots get: #51 + #117

Lions get: #43

Analysis: The trading makes plenty of sense for the Patriots considering how the board has been falling. By moving down eight spots, the team picks up an additional mid-round selection while talented options on both sides of the football are still available.
