The New England Patriots selected Miami wide receiver Braxton Berrios with the 210th overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft.
The 5’9, 184-pound Berrios collected 55 catches for 679 yards and 9 touchdowns this past season and also fielded 13 punts for 207 yards. He is considered a great route runner in the middle of the field and has even drawn comparisons to Danny Amendola.
Berrios joins a crowded wide receiver corps and is not guaranteed a roster spot. He will battle Riley McCarron and Cody Hollister for the chance to make the active roster, but has an uphill battle with Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan, Malcolm Mitchell, Phillip Dorsett, Kenny Britt, Jordan Matthews, and Cordarrelle Patterson ahead on the depth chart.
Perhaps Berrios will stick around on the practice squad for 2018 and will have a chance to make the roster when the majority of those receivers are free agents in 2019.
