The New England Patriots selected Western Carolina cornerback Keion Crossen with the 243rd overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
Crossen visited with the Patriots and is an incredible athlete. He is 5’9 and 178 pounds, running an impressive 4.33s 40-yard dash and 6.67s three cone. He has an incredible 10’11 broad jump and collected 3 interceptions and 19 break-ups at Western Carolina.
The Patriots double-dipped at cornerback with Duke Dawson in the second round, and it’s likely that Crossen will have to make the roster through special teams performance. The Patriots have plenty of depth at the position with Stephon Gilmore, Jason McCourty, Eric Rowe, Cyrus Jones, and Jonathan Jones, along with 2017 practice squad players like Ryan Lewis and Jomal Wiltz.
The Patriots now have the 250th overall pick left.
The Patriots 2018 Draft Class is OL Isaiah Wynn, RB Sony Michel, CB Duke Dawson, LB Ja’Whaun Bentley, LB Christian Sam, QB Danny Etling, and Crossen.
