The New England Patriots entered free agency with four key free agents: left tackle Nate Solder, running back Dion Lewis, cornerback Malcolm Butler, and wide receiver Danny Amendola.
Solder is now the highest-paid offensive lineman in the league for the New York Giants. Lewis and Butler joined former Patriots cornerback Logan Ryan with the Tennessee Titans. And Amendola is getting paid more by the Miami Dolphins than the Patriots give Julian Edelman.
New England had interest in bringing back three, but were priced out on all four. That’s okay, it’s just another year of Patriots free agency because Bill Belichick and company followed the same blueprint that’s brought them to eight Super Bowls since 2001.
