Garcia was the Patriots third round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, but did not play in 2017 after blood clots were discovered in his lungs. The Patriots subsequently released him with a non-football injury designation on May 11th.
The Jets are clearly interested in what the once-highly rated prospect is capable of doing in the NFL and Garcia was expected to make a full recovery.
But the Patriots were clearly intent to move on from Garcia after the 2018 NFL Draft when they selected Isaiah Wynn in the first round and acquired Trent Brown from the San Francisco 49ers.
Best of luck to Garcia in his recovery and with the Jets.
