The 6’3, 250-pound Develin has been a part of the Patriots organization since 2012 and he’s developed into the best run-blocking fullback in the entire league. He also contributes on special teams.
Develin is entering the final year of a two-year, $2.45 million contract he signed in March of 2017. Based on the increased price tag for fullbacks, Develin’s new 2-year deal is projected to be worth between $3-4 million.
This is great news for both the Patriots and their fan-favorite-fullback. We will update this story when more details emerge.
UPDATE: Howe reports that Develin’s contract is a 2-year deal for $3.8 million with a $600,000 signing bonus. This $1.9 million per year amount makes Develin the 6th-highest paid fullback in the NFL with the 8th-most guaranteed at the position. It’s a total bargain.
Develin’s two-year, $3.8M extension is finalized. Includes $600k signing bonus.
