I hope the Patriots switch to their Color Rush uniforms

Even if they won’t be on Thursday nights, the Patriots should keep their sweet uniforms.

Thursday Night Football will no longer feature color rush jerseys, according to FOX Sports, which is a real shame. I completely understand why some people dislike the jerseys since some are completely hideous, but the New England Patriots color rush jerseys were pretty sweet.

These jerseys bring a pop of color to both the shoulder pads and to the pants that the Patriots standard jerseys simply don’t provide and they’re much more attractive to the eyes. They’re also based on the Patriots’ red throwback jerseys, which are also awesome.

I think the Patriots should really think about matching their pants with their jersey colors because their silver or blue pants aren’t particularly notable. They should have the solid blue, the solid white, and then a solid red throwback they can use for an alternate- and hopefully wear with their throwback helmet.

The Patriots haven’t updated their uniforms since 2000 and their main argument for not wearing matching pants and uniforms no longer holds water. They wore royal blue on royal blue for two home games in 2002 against the Green Bay Packers and the Denver Broncos and lost both games by a combined score of 52-26 and refused to wear a solid color uniform combination until Color Rush in 2016.

Well, the Patriots wore solid blue in 2016 against the Houston Texans and then wore solid white in 2017 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and won both games by a combined score of 46-14. Clearly New England should put solid colors back on the menu.
