Patriots Nation can take a deep breath and finally have some sort of idea of Tom Brady’s plans for the future.
After the final episode of Tom Brady’s docu-series, that aired leading up to last years Super Bowl 52 loss to the Eagles, some Patriot fans were left with some question of whether or not Tom Brady would still be fully committed to playing into his mid 40’s, like he stated several times in the previous episodes. That speculation later continued when Tom Brady missed optional team workouts earlier in the off-season in which he never usually does and reports of some tension stirring inside the doors at 1 Patriot Place.
However, in his comments with WEEI’s Kirk and Callahan earlier this morning, Brady expressed that he would hope to play for the Patriots beyond his recent contract extension.
“I certainly expect to be here next year and hopefully beyond.” Brady also added, “Like I’ve said, I have goals to play for a long time. I still love doing it. I still want to do it, but I am also focused on what I need to do this year. It’s a tough challenge. It’s a great challenge. I have loved it for a long time and I still want to get out there and be the best I can be for our team.”
Later he commented on his recent contract extension and his love for the Patriots organization stating, “I’ve never talked about my contract and that’s never been the top priority for me, as you guys know. I love being here, this community, this organization. I love winning and I love that my family has had a home for a long time.”
Sounds like Tom Brady is here, wants to be here and wants to be a Patriot until Father Time finally catches up to him and that’s always great news to begin your Tuesday morning.
