The New England Patriots will host the Philadelphia Eagles tonight in the rare preseason game that comes with a certain amount of hype. The contest is a rematch of Super Bowl 52, after all, a game that the Eagles won. Tonight, the Patriots will therefore try to get the smallest revenge imaginable. However, they will have to do so without some of their starters.
The following 10 players did not participate in warmups and will be out tonight (via our old friend Evan Lazar):
WR Braxton Berrios
WR Kenny Britt
WR Matthew Slater
RB Sony Michel
RB Rex Burkhead
OT Marcus Cannon
DE Trey Flowers
LB Harvey Langi
CB Ryan Lewis
CB Duke Dawson
While not the biggest names on the list of inactives, Braxton Berrios certainly is the most surprising one. The rookie did not suffer any recorded injury during practice this week or last week’s game against Washington, so his inactivity is something to monitor moving forward. The rest of the players is all currently dealing with injuries.
The rest of New England’s 89 players did dress and warm up, and can therefore be expected to see some action tonight.
