Injury update: Patriots RB Jeremy Hill says he’s “okay” and returned to the game

The Patriots running back hopefully avoided any major injury.

New England Patriots running back Jeremy Hill looked shaken up against the Carolina Panthers when he was horsecollared by a Panthers defender and subsequently had his legs awkwardly rolled up on. Hill hobbled to the sideline and appeared to be in a lot of pain.

After the game, Hill did not appear to be limping in the locker room, per the Herald’s Kevin Duffy, and it turns out that Hill actually returned to the game after his injury:

Hill is competing with Mike Gillislee for one of the final roster spots and any injury at this stage of the preseason would likely lead to an unfortunate separation. Hill has the edge on Gillislee through three games, although Gillislee did look better for stretches of Friday’s game.

Hopefully Hill is correct in that he avoided any injury and that he will be available for the Patriots. He’s been able to contribute on special teams and as a three-down player, so he would be a good player to have on the roster.
