The New England Patriots continue being active today. After two transactions earlier today – trading safety Jordan Richards to the Atlanta Falcons and releasing wide receiver Paul Turner –, it now looks as if the team has let another player go. According to NESN’s Doug Kyed, the Patriots have parted ways with running back Khalfani Muhammad:
The Patriots released RB Khalfani Muhammad, according to a source.
Muhammad joined the Patriots last season as a free agency pickup to bolster the running back position for the final preseason game. He was on the field for only nine snaps, though, and finished his lone game in a New England uniform with four carries for 21 yards and one pass reception for seven yards. Unsurprisingly, this performance did not help him make the team.
Muhammad is still eligible to re-join the Patriots via their practice squad, however. The move brings New England’s roster to 86.
