The New England Patriots are currently down three touchdowns on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The team is also down a pair of its best defenders: after defensive edge Trey Flowers was lost in the first quarter due to a concussion, strong safety Patrick Chung is also out. The veteran did not return from the locker room after halftime and will miss the remainder of the contest.
As the team just announced, Chung is also dealing with a concussion and has officially been ruled out.
With Chung not coming back today, the Patriots will use more of Duron Harmon and Jason McCourty at safety in coverage of tight ends. Chung, usually a reliable presence in this role, was inconsistent in the first half. Maybe his replacements will find more success – they need to in order for the team to come back from its deficit.
