Week 4 Patriots vs Dolphins Thursday injury report: Eric Rowe misses practice, Brandon King added to list

New England released its second injury report of the week.

In only three days, the New England Patriots will play the Miami Dolphins in a game that could have major ramifications when it comes to the AFC East’s final standings: the 1-2 Patriots need to defeat the 3-0 Dolphins not to fall too further behind their rivals. Doing that, however, is easier said than done – especially considering that New England is currently dealing with plenty of injuries as a look at today’s practice report shows:

Did not participate

Dolphins: LB Chase Allen (foot), DE Andre Branch (knee), TE A.J. Derby (foot), RB Frank Gore (not injury related)

Patriots: CB Eric Rowe (groin)

After missing last week’s game in Detroit and being a limited participant yesterday, Eric Rowe was absent today. While this does not mean that New England’s number two cornerback will definitely be out on Sunday, the chances of him playing – and beyond that going wire-to-wire – do not look good. As a result, Jason McCourty and J.C. Jackson will likely again combine to fill his role on the defense.

Limited participation

Patriots: OT Marcus Cannon (calf), SS Patrick Chung (concussion), CB Keion Crossen (hamstring), SS Nate Ebner (hip), DE Trey Flowers (concussion), WR Josh Gordon (hamstring), DE Geneo Grissom (ankle), TE Rob Gronkowski (ankle), TE Jacob Hollister (chest), DT Danny Shelton (elbow), LB Brandon King (foot)

Rowe missing today’s session is not the only difference on the Patriots’ injury list when compared to yesterday: special teams ace Brandon King was added to the list of limited players due to a foot injury. With fellow special teamer Nate Ebner also limited, this is a situation worth monitoring over the next few days. One of them being out on Sunday would be a blow, both missing the game could potentially be devastating.

Full participation

Dolphins: WR Danny Amendola (not injury related), LS John Denney (shoulder), DT Davon Godchaux (ankle), FS Reshad Jones (shoulder), CB Bobby McCain (shoulder), QB Ryan Tannehill (right shoulder), DE Cameron Wake (knee)

Three players returned to full action today for Miami: wideout Danny Amendola and defensive edge Cameron Wake were back after missing yesterday’s practice, while Reshad Jones was upgrade from limited to full.
