In not even 90 minutes, the New England Patriots will play their fourth game of the season – and their first one against an AFC East opponent: the 3-0 Miami Dolphins visit Gillette Stadium today in one of the biggest early-season games in recent memory. And while the Patriots are not at full strength, they will have two of their biggest names available as a look at the inactive players shows:
Patriots inactives
TE Jacob Hollister
OL Ted Karras
OL Cole Croston
DE Keionta Davis
DE Derek Rivers
DE Geneo Grissom
CB Eric Rowe
Of the 10 players listed as questionable on Friday’s final injury report, only three – Jacob Hollister, Geneo Grissom, Eric Rowe – will not be available today. The rest of them will play, including starters in all three phases of the game: tight end Rob Gronkowski (ankle) is active, as are edge defender Trey Flowers (concussion) and safety Patrick Chung (concussion) as well as special teamers Brandon King (foot) and Nate Ebner (hip).
Also active is Patriots’ big-name trade acquisition Josh Gordon. The 27-year old, who missed last week’s game because of a hamstring injury, will make his debut today and ideally help take some defensive attention away from Gronkowski.
Dolphins inactives
QB Luke Falk
QB David Fales
WR DeVante Parker
S Reshad Jones
DE Andre Branch
LB Chase Allen
TE A.J. Derby
Chase Allen, Andre Branch and A.J. Derby were already declared out last week, and they are joined by four more players today – including two of Miami’s core players: wide receiver DeVante Parker miss the game against New England as will safety Reshad Jones. Both were listed as questionable on Friday.
