Do Your Job Episode 3: Patriots Scouting Department

"We're not just collecting talent, we're building a team." Do Your Job Episode 3 presented by Bose, featuring the Patriots scouting department.

After both of their last Super Bowl victories — in 2014 and 2016 —, NFL Films produced a documentation focusing on the New England Patriots’ season and playoff run from the coaching staff’s perspective. No third installment of the series was made in 2018, courtesy of the team losing on the game’s biggest stage. However, the organization has decided to take matters into its own hands as it unveiled in late September.

The team created a documentary focusing on the people working behind the scenes: the football operations staff. While not affiliated with NFL Films, the documentation also carries the franchise’s organizational mantra as its name: Do Your Job. The third episode of this third production named like that premiered earlier today, focusing on the Patriots’ scouting department led by Director of College Scouting Monti Ossenfort.

Narrated by Patriots special teams ace Matthew Slater, the episode takes a look at how the scouting staff prepares for the draft — from film analysis to workouts to the actual event itself — and gives insight into the various characters involved in it. The aforementioned Ossenfort is one, while other such as College Scouting Coordinator Brian Smith and Director of Player Personnel Nick Caserio are also shown.
